[full_width padding=”20px 50px 0 50px”]Learn how to take your hustle to the next level. It doesn’t matter what kind of business, brand, or blog you want to start first step is location location location.  If you’re starting your own business online same sh*t applies.  So before you start whatever business or service you want to provide, location location location.

STEP 1. Get your own Domain Name & Website

If you are serious about owning your own business, creating a brand, or making any kind of money online, you need to invest in your own website and domain name. DON’T GET SCAMMED, DOMAIN NAMES DON’T COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO BUY, BUILD, OR MAINTAIN.

I use Global Domains International for 3 reasons:

  1. Global Domains gives a free .WS Domain name to every new member.
  2. You get to try it before you buy it. Global Domains is FREE for the first 7 days, after 7 days GDI is only 10 bucks a month for hosting.

Most people know what a domain name is but talking about hosting that’s new.

What is hosting? Let me break it down,

If you owned a strip mall – the building and all the business in it, that would be your website. Whatever you call it, that would be considered your domain name.

The company you purchased the mall from Godaddy, 1&1, and etc. owns the land and you pay fee to keep the lights on.  That would be considered your hosting.

Unless you plan on running your own Facebook or YouTube or something on a level where you expect millions of people to be on your site at same time, any time of the day – unless you need that level of service you can launch your site for less than $25 bucks up front depending on the hosting plan you choose average price is about $10 to $15 bucks a month to keep the lights on.  That’s less than .50 cent a day.

QUICK TIP: Use domain forwarding  to build your personal brand

Truth is individually owned businesses like Artists, Producers, Lawn Care Service, Beautician, Barber, Carpet Cleaning, and etc.  All those types of business can launch and promoted digitally with just a domain name and a Facebook page, SoundCloud, Instagram, YouTube, or whatever.

It’s easier than you think to forward your domain name to you Facebook page, SoundCloud, Instagram or whatever social network you promote yourself on the most.

STEP 2. Build your website

Building you own website is easier than you might think and believe it or not it doesn’t cost hundreds or thousands in software to make it happen.  It cost time.

Use WordPress

It’s a free website add-on and is the #1 Content Management System on the planet.  It’s currently being used by over 25% of websites online.  Major brands, Networks, and Celebrities like:

TechCrunch, The New Yorker, BBC America, The Official Star Wars Blog, Variety, Sony Music, MTV News, Official Beyonce site, and more..

Don’t pay for Installation

Depending on where you decide to buy your domain name from, installing WordPress can be done in few minutes, in a few clicks or less, and for FREE.

If you don’t know how to use WordPress, YouTube has thousands of free tutorials to learn from.

WordPress offers thousands of free WordPress themes and plugins to help you design and maximize your site. Understand you can literally launch whatever kind of site you want online using WordPress.

STEP 3. Monetize your site

If you don’t have your own products(s) or service(s), the best way to earn extra income online is through affiliate programs.

I use Amazon.com it’s the largest distributor online, they have more than 2 million products for you to promote and earn commission from.

That means if you are a Barber you can sell “Organic Hair Grease” from your site, or if your Beautician you can sell “Virgin Hair” from your site, and earn a commission.

Join Amazon Affiliate Program

There are thousands of other retailers like Amazon online, however Amazon is by far the most trusted, and it’s FREE.  If you want to mark up the price of products on your site or flip products on eBay I recommend wholesaling or even Drop shipping products to avoid having to purchase inventory.

You can choose from any of the free themes that come on your blog or download a new one that is either free or premium (paid). Some great themes I recommend are Optimizepress, Headway themes, or Studiopress themes.

Also, if you are looking to send newsletters and collect emails from your blog, which is almost required for success with any blog, I recommend you use Getresponse or Aweber.
